Available in 7-foot, 9-foot, and 12-foot designs, the Trex Horizons 5x5 posts offer a solid foundation for your horizontal composite fence. These posts can easily slide over metal or wood posts, and an alternative post is available in powder-coated black aluminum.

Horizontal U-Channel

The Trex Horizons horizontal U-channel runs 92 inches long and is installed at both the top and bottom of the fence panel. These channels hold the interlocking pickets securely in place, keeping the panel aligned and preventing movement over time. By reinforcing the structure at both ends, the U-channel helps maintain a uniform appearance across every section.

Vertical Back Rail

The 14-gauge back rail of Trex Horizons fences measures 73 ½ or 93 inches long, depending on your design. It's 1 ½ inches wide and has a thickness of ¾ inch.

This rail rests along the back of the fence and connects the fence post, top, and bottom rail to form a strong framework for the pickets. One end of the back rail includes a built-in notch, which allows it to fit securely into place.

Vertical Front Rail

Each Trex Fencing SRF panel includes a steel vertical front rail that runs along the face of the panel, tying the horizontal boards together. This rail adds rigidity at the point where wind pressure and movement are most likely to occur, helping prevent bowing, sagging, and shifting over time. The result is a straighter, more uniform fence that holds its shape in changing weather and daily use.

Fence Pickets

Trex Horizons uses composite pickets that interlock tightly to form a full-privacy panel. Each picket resists fading, cracking, and insect damage. The interlocking design eliminates gaps for complete privacy and a uniform appearance on both sides of the fence.

Top Rail Bracket

At the top of Trex Horizons fences, you'll find a 16-gauge steel top rail bracket. It's 1 ¼ inches tall and 1 ⅓ inches wide. The U-shaped design attaches to the fence post, while the top rail slides over it to give your fence a polished finish and strong framework. All necessary screws are included to ensure a secure, reliable installation.

Post Caps

Complete your fence with a stylish post cap that protects the inner sleeve and enhances the fence's look. Available in pyramid or flat designs, each Trex cap measures 6½ inches wide by 3 inches tall for a polished finish.

Concrete Post Mount

The wall mount/surface mount method is offered as a suggestion for securing a fence on top of a wall or concrete pad and is not part of the standard installation process. Wall mounts are not Trex products and are not covered under warranty. Engineering may be necessary to determine if wall mounts will perform properly for your application.

Trex Solitudes fence posts are made from durable composite material that resists fading, warping, and corrosion. Each post measures 5 inches by 5 inches, with length options of 7-foot, 9-foot, and 12-foot, and provides the structural foundation for every fence panel. These posts can sleeve over wood or metal posts or be used independently.

Composite Top Rail Aluminum Insert

The composite top rail features a hidden aluminum insert for additional strength and stability. The rail measures 2 ½ inches high and 3 inches wide, capping each panel with a finished profile. The aluminum reinforcement inside helps prevent sagging over long sections and keeps the fence line straight over time.

Aluminum Bottom Rail

The aluminum bottom rail supports the weight of the interlocking pickets and locks them securely in place. It measures 1 ½ inches tall and 2 inches wide, providing excellent rigidity and corrosion resistance. This rail design prevents bowing and keeps the bottom of the fence aligned, even on long runs.

The Trex Solitudes post caps finish the fence with a smooth, protective edge. They are 6 ½ inches across and lock in place at the top of the post to keep moisture and debris out. The sleek design adds a polished look while extending the life of the entire fence system.

Vertical Side Rails

The Solitudes' back rail provides reinforcement, ensures alignment, and stability from behind the panel. It mirrors the front frame's design to ensure balanced strength and consistent style.
